Silicon Valley Code Camp : October 8th and 9th, 2011.
Formerly a software engineer and manager at Apple, 3Com, and Motorola, I am now an adjunct faculty member at Foothill College developing curriculum for iPhone Mobile App development. I am also the Director of the Community College Open Textbooks Collaborative which promotes the adoption and production of high quality and accessible open textbooks for community college students.
Starting with how-to download the iOS SDK and setup your development environment, you’ll learn about the comprehensive tools available such as Xcode, Interface Builder, iOS Simulator, and Instruments for building and debugging mobile apps. After a brief overview of the iPhone OS architecture and Objective-C language syntax, we’ll build a couple of simple apps that show the elegance and power of this environment.
