Silverlight Data Service Options for Business Apps

unassigned

About This Session

Silverlight is a great vehicle for business applications on the web. Application users aren't just watching videos on Silverlight; they're querying, creating, modifying, deleting, validating, securing and saving. They need "Data Services" infrastructure to help master and manage the complexity. The familiar, two-tier approaches don't work on Silverlight because the client doesn’t have a clear line-of-sight to the database. You can write the n-tier plumbing yourself or turn to off-the-shelf alternatives. This session will highlight the issues and challenges, talk briefly about RIA Services from Microsoft, and then about the popular DevForce for Silverlight product from IdeaBlade. There will be code. You will discover that, with a little help, it's pretty easy to get your Silverlight business application built and in customers' hands.
