Building Better Sprint Plans
If you are challenged with creating rapid, solid sprint plans and struggling with mid-sprint issues, incomplete work at the end of a sprint, the treatment of bugs and when to apply ‘spikes’ then this course is for you.
In this course, Developing Effective Agile Sprint Plans, you will learn the skills, approaches, and techniques to advance your essential sprint planning capabilities.
First, we will review key Agile and Scrum terms, definitions, roles, artifacts and processes to provide the basis for this course and cover the numerous benefits of having a solid Agile planning process and what the outcomes and expectations of sprint planning should be.
Next, you will learn the activities of the product backlog, user stories, sprint planning, sprint backlog, the sprint itself, daily scrum or stand up, and lastly the sprint review and retrospective. Included will be sprint management activities such as sprint status, burn-down, and developing velocities.
Finally, this course will not only cover the “happy path” planning process, but once the sprint is launched and is “in-flight,” we will explore how to handle the myriad of issues that may affect and impede your plan, such as: bugs, staffing, ‘spikes’, and incomplete work and what options you can apply to mitigate them.
When you’re finished with this course, you will have the skills and knowledge of how to improve, execute and deliver high quality sprint plans; and what options you have if things ‘go wrong.’
