Using monads and arrowlets for server-side game development with nodejs. This session will combine presentations and descriptions with practical examples of working code in nodejs. We'll take a look at using a modified version of the Arrowlets library for simplifying the creation of server-side state machines that add dynamic elements to games. We'll meet a monad or two along the way.

The Speaker(s)

Bill Enright

Nodejs and JavaScript enthusiast. I work at BD Biosciences, in San Jose, CA, developing C# software for clinical diagnosis and research of blood diseases. In the dark of night, I build nodejs-based web apps for online game prototyping. I'm currently a student at the University of Illinois Springfield in their online MSCS program. My areas of interest are applying functional programming in the application domain (hence last year's session on Arrowlets), nodejs and webservices (hence this year's session :), and javascript in the browser.
