Web API for Wuala, social online storage

unassigned

About This Session

Wuala is a free social online storage which allows its users to securely store, backup, and access files from anywhere and to share files easily with friends, groups, and the world. Wuala is based on a novel grid technology (P2P) and brings a twist to online storage: you can trade local storage for additional online storage (e.g., trade 50 GB on your computer, get 50 GB of online storage). While I could speak about Wuala's core technology (see for instance the Google tech talk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xKZ4KGkQY8), I plan to open up our first version of our web API at the Silicon Valley codecamp. The idea is that anyone can pull out meta data about public files in Wuala using our API (SOAP/REST/...). This allows for interesting mashups, Facebook apps, widgets, etc. and we're looking forward to find keen programmers who can build apps around it. Also, we're open sourcing two components of Wuala at this year's OpenExpo in Switzerland. Please attend - I think it will be an interesting, interactive sessions where I'd like to show you what we have and you could tell me what you need in order to build great apps :)
