Deme: Now A Modular CMS, Now in Django
Presentation
We'll describe a modular new content management framework written in Django. This tool, called Deme, is the latest generalization of a project that began as simple groupware and has mutated into something much more general. Deme defines a class hierarchy of item types (people, groups, documents, etc.) to correspond to different viewers. Everything is built to allow commentary and data sharing. Permissions are flexible, allowing users and site admins fine-grained control over who can do what with each bit of data. We'll describe the ideas behind the code and show an example site that uses it. Co-presented with Mike Mintz.
