  • Introduction to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

2:15 PM Saturday   Room: Town Square A
This will be a non-intimidating introduction to machine learning, one of the most dominant subjects in technology. We'll talk about what it is, how machines learn, and why it has become so important. We’ll look at why the quantity of data is so important to machine learning and the qualities that the best data should have. We’ll then talk about how a model is trained, and the machine learning process.

We’ll also discuss Artificial Intelligence and machine learning’s role in AI. This will be a non-technical introduction, but we'll discuss some of the technology behind AI, including neural networks and deep learning. Specifically, we’ll delve into Convolutional Neural Networks and explore why they’re so good at computer vision tasks. We'll also discuss how machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence are related, and how they differ. We'll conclude by talking about some of the amazing things that AI can do and what it can’t do (yet).
