With over two decades of development experience on the web, he enjoys coding in the cloud and building rapid prototypes powered by IBM Watson.     In this session, learn about Cloud Functions and how they change the way a developer builds a traditional web application. You'll learn how to create a Cloud Function, expose it as a web action and make it available as an API with API Gateway, manage who can use your API, and integrate it into an application.
    We'll also talk about best practices and what questions to ask when deciding if Cloud Functions or another environment is a better choice.

  • It takes an open source village to raise a robot

    Come learn about TJBot, IBM Watson's first Maker Kit powered by a Raspberry Pi and how easy it is to build a Cognitive robot. We'll show how to train TJBot to listen, understand what is heard, extract intents, entities, and emotions, control a LED light and servo-powered arm, and recognize objects and colors, using six IBM Watson services: Speech to Text, Text to Speech, Conversation, Language Translator, Tone Analyzer, and Visual Recognition.
    JeanCarl will also share how the open source community has taken hold of this adorable bot and some of the projects that have been built.
