• Javascript in Cloud - Think Automation using Google Apps Script

  I would like to speak about an exciting technology called Google Apps Script. Apps Script is a javascript engine in the cloud. It lets you create applications and extend Google Apps. It help users automate their experiences using Google products such as Sites, Docs, Spreadsheets, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts etc. Apps Script is leading the charge in the server side javascript movement and helping make APIs more accessible and user friendly. Additionally, Apps Script allows users to easily create UI and extend Google Sites and Spreadsheet. Apps Script can also connect with 3rd party APIs. The overall goal of this talk is to show why Apps Script has taken the lead in server side javascript movement to bring richness of APIs in mainstream. Web properties are no longer silo'd. It will be a thought provoking talk on how users are being given freedom and richness of functionality to extend web applications using server side javascript.
