Chris Sutton is a software developer and technical trainer in eastern Iowa. He's currently building several ASP.NET MVC projects for the Center for Public Health Statistics at the University of Iowa. He has helped run and organize SouthColorado.NET and CRineta.org and he co-founded the Iowa Code Camp in 2008. Chris is a Microsoft MVP, a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) and holds the MCPD:Enterprise certification. He has 11 years of professional software development experience and loves developing for the web. Chris enjoys hiking and biking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter.

    <p>Mercurial is an excellent distributed source control tool that is used widely in companies and open source projects. It has a clean and simple interface and it is a powerful, reliable repository for your source code.</p> <p>I’ll demonstrate the core commands and work flow you'll use with Mercurial and we’ll discuss the differences between it and centralized source control tools. Branching and merging is simple and it works well, so we'll look at how it can be used in your development process. We’ll close with a discussion on the benefits of moving to a distributed system.</p>
