About Dave
Dave is a Development Manager / Senior Engineer at Vertigo Software. When he was just 12 years old he got access to a Commodore PET and has been hooked on computers and programming ever since. Dave Graduated from the Leeds Metropolitan University(England) with a B.A. in Computer Studies w/Software Engineering in 1991 and has been doing consulting, almost exclusively using Microsoft technologies, ever since. A very experienced Microsoft .Net developer, loves to stay ahead of the curve learning the newest technologies as soon as they are out of the gate. He has already implemented and deployed several production sites using Silverlight 1.0 and is currently working on a substantial enterprise system using Silverlight 2.0. WCF and Workflow Foundation technologies A considerable amount of his career has been spent working with Document Management and Enterprise Workflow systems and he is passionate about solving not only technical problems, but business problems.

    At last years code camp I was lucky enough to present on Silverlight 1.0. I've had my fingers in the pie since it was wpf/e and I still find it an amazing technology! One year on and Microsoft has advanced the technology, making is simpler and much more powerfull. I'll spend some time showing some real world uses of the technology from a Business Application perspective. How it plays perfectly with ASP.Net and some of the other core Microsoft technologies. And of course it would be amiss if there wasn't some fun stuff in here too. Some of the main topics: <ul> <li>Control Encapsulation</li> <li>Ease of use with ASP.Net Web Forms</li> <li>WCF / Services</li> <li>JavaScript / HTML DOM interaction</li> </ul>
